Our process will not damage your tile, your carpets, your cabinets or baseboards. And we do not use harsh chemicals that could potentially cause any type of damage in your home.
Serving Tucson since 1998, Arizona Tile & Grout Care are the experts when it comes to tile and grout cleaning and sealing.
As you can observe in this video, we clean, seal and repair Saltillo tile and a variety of clay tiles. This particular floor hasn’t been sealed yet. Most Saltillo floors we restore are anywhere from 1-year old to 7-year old.
When there is furniture in our customer’s home, we make it easy for them by moving items back and forth.
First we sweep, prep and vacuum all floors as necessary before cleaning. This one was covered with lots of dust and debris.
All tiles are different. As mentioned above, Saltillo is softer than most tiles and requires special care. We work together as you can see here getting as much cleaning solution as possible down on the floor and scrubbing with a special brush attachment that’s specific to this type of tile. This suspends the dirt so we can remove it.
After a thorough scrub to the floor we can then extract the dirty water. The floor gets a good rinse until the water is clear, then air movers are placed on the tile for drying.
Before we even think about applying the sealer, we sweep the floor again and remove all debris left behind so that nothing gets sealed in.
There are several different ways of applying our sealers. Our application process depends on a few factors and the characteristics of the clay tile.
We always apply two even coats to ensure ultimate protection. In some cases, when the Saltillo is more exposed due to wear or a lack of seal, we apply three or sometimes even four coats to those areas for blending purposes.
After we finish we provide our customers with information and a care sheet on how to care for your floor or surface. This is so you can maintain your floor and keep it a great look for years to come.
Our floor coatings and seals should last between 3 and 5 years depending on care and traffic. You can increase the length of time if you follow care instructions and maintain your floor properly.
When we are finished with cleaning and sealing your Saltillo tile, the end result is astonishing.
